I have seen a couple of ads on this forum related to people wanting to find a mate for their dog. There are already hundreds of thousands of dogs put down every year, and allowing such posts contributes to the problem. Usually when these types of posts are allowed on other message boards that ends up being the only threads created, and everyone else has to sort through them. It would be much more responsible to not allow these types of posts.
Thanks for considering my request,
Scott

pupforum's policy is that this forum is for all dog lovers, including those that breed them.
pupforum promotes and heavily supports adopting homeless dogs as a first option in bringing home a new family member. (www.pupforum.com/adoptadog/)
However, there are many responsible breeders that do wonderful things for dogs, including rescue work.
We feel it would be irresponsible to alienate such a large segment of the dog community.

Hello Scott,
We apreciate your concern. However, like Chris said, we do not want to exclude anyone from our website. We have had very few (only one that I've noticed) messages regarding breeding on our message board.
The overwhelming majority of our audience is people invloved in resuce, and I believe that there is enough information all over this site that our visitors will be able to make an educated decision as to whether they should rescue or purchase a dog.

I've been at the forefront of rescue vs breeding for 20 some years. I don't have kids either because I feel so strongly about zero population growth. I do have to say though that if all resposible people quit breeding, then all we will have left is backyard breeders breeding garbage. Those who are most responsible have stopped breeding but it is these same people that are breeding the only qualityy animals out there. if you were to buy a puppy wouldn't you want it to be from a pro who knows their dogs and breed inside and out, who is honest, won't lie to you and sell you some garbage that will get sick and die on you from some rare genetic problem that is particular to that breed that the novice/backyard breeder knows nothing about! Or even worse a temperment issue and someone gets injured.
I think the folks coming to this site appear for the most part to be responsible pet owners, and they don't want to talk to a bunch of macho yahoo's anyhow! Those folks can go to the sites you have already suggested are out there, and get better results, with folks like themselves.
I hope it doesn't come down to that so far it's been a fun site and I've met lots of neat people and it's easy to tell people how to get here to look at the dogs for adoption also. Pangaya.

VIVA, WELL SAID, PANGAYA,
I ran rescue & trauma rehab for many years & I would venture to say that most of my kids over the years were victims of bad breeding!!!!
