Unless he is rolling over on his own for fun, roll over is a little advanced for a puppy. Does he know any other tricks yet?

No, he doesnt. He has been to puppy school where he has learned the basics. But no tricks yet. I suppose it isnt that important, i just wanted to try something new.

Oh that's good, you took him to a puppy socialization class? Do you plan to take him to a basic obedience class too?

the biggest challenge with teaching a dog to roll over is to keep him from getting too excited and immediately standing up after he does it. always keep a calm and positive demeanor when training a dog to do a new trick.

my dog can roll over but only one way its strange. You can get your dog to roll over by using a treat make your dog lay down and then move the treat in a position and try and get your dog to lay on its back then it should roll over repeat the command roll over.

I get the dog to lay down then roll over with a treat. From one side to another.
