I woke up this morning (due to the cat stepping on my face, no less), got out of bed, and stepped RIGHT on a tennis ball. After a few rounds of flailing arms to try to stay upright, I finally gained my balance again. So I went downstairs to let my puppy out (he is not fully housebroken yet, so he has to stay in a sectioned off area of the kitchen until he is housetrained...don't want pee on the bed), and somehow he had managed to throw half of his toys over the baby gate. I swear there was an army of toys waiting for me, with their puppy commander just grinning and wagging his tail.

After letting him out, I started to clean the house. 3 toys under the couch, one in the couch, 2 under the computer desk, and one in the middle of the living room floor.

I think the dog toys are taking over!

Oh my, I don't dare move the furniture! I will probably find whole nations of toys!

The cat flipped one of his little feather toys within reach of the dogs, who ate all but a piece of the toy: I believe it was an ear.  When I went to discard the ear, our littlest dog (chihuahua mix) grabbed it and carried it off.  This was last year.

Every few weeks, the ear would appear, then disappear and reappear someplace else.  Apparently they enjoyed playing with it when no one was around, because that little piece of ear has appeared everywhere.  It moves around more than any other toy, which is funny and sad at the same time.  I have to admit it cheers me up whenever I find the ear in an unexpected place at random.

That's so funny, Jordan is like that too. She'll rip all her toys into pieces, but she'll treat every piece like an individual toy. She'll drop some speck of plastic the size of a period at your feet and expect you to throw it to her LOL

I got a large plastic tub for all of my dog's toys since she has so many and I hate walking around in the house when it's dark since I almost always end up stepping on one of her nice jagged plastic chewy bone or a lovely soggy and cold wet plush chew toy... bleh, if I place it on the ground she just roots through it herself and picks out what she wants to play with.  However, a lot of the dog books I've read said that you should control what toys they play with by taking out what they can play with and when they can play with it out of their toy chest, but in our relationship as I've noticed with everyone else... she's the boss, not me obviously.
