A new column has been published in the Pupforum Ask a Trainer section:

Two Rotts Can't Be Separated
I have recently acquired 2 full grown male Rottweilers of unknown age. The previous owners stated that they needed to be kept together, that they had been together since birth. They are brothers. Usually, they are both sweet and lovable. I am not capable of playing with them together for any length of time because they become jealous and want all the attention. I have tried to separate them, but they want to be close to the other one....

Post your comments on the column here.

This sounds EXACTLY like 2 Rotts that I fostered last year. They were 3 years old at the time.I also tried to separate them. I sent one to live with a friend across town and kept one with me. The one I kept here refused to eat or drink for 3 completed days. After that he would take water, but no food. I even tried to give him meat from the table and he refused to eat that, too. He started to lose weight rapidly. After 2 weeks, my friend called me and said that the dog he had was starving itself to death, that I needed to come get it. As soon as the "brother" was brought back to my house, both dogs were ecstatic, even though they hadn't "seen" each other yet. When I put them together, they whined, sniffed, licked, and ATE together. It took me 3 months to get their weight back on. I thought I had found a home for them together. If these are the same 2 dogs, I believe that if they are separated, they will grieve themselves to death.
