Hey just wanted everyone to post some personality traita of there pomeranians or what other people like about the breed. I have a Female he is 1 1/2 yr old and what I love about her is how he never stops she is alway wanting to play or to get someone to play with her, I also love how she always wants to be with her mommy I leave for a econd and she is crying at the door and then gets so happy and hyped up when I come home.

I want a Pom sooooooooooo badly.  But my parents want a bigger dog.  Guess who's winning???

Still, I LOVE Poms, they are just too cute.  Not only that but I love their expressions, they're just like they know EXACTLY what's going on!!!!!!!  Everyone says they're yappy like most toy breeds but I don't think that's true, that's just a sterotype of the breeds plus it depends on the personality of the individual dog, too.

Also, I had a question for you, do they shed a lot?  Because my neat freak mother doesn't want a dog that sheds a lot....i thought they must since they're long haired, but just thought I'd ask.

Pomeranians do shed their undercoats, as they have an outer coat, and an undercoat.  The bad thing is they do not usually shed themselves, they need to be brushed ot the undercoat gets matted with the outercoat and it just becomes a huge mess.  They need to be brushed fully at least 2 times a week, and bathed often.  They can be a problem to people with allergies as they are not like poodles or cockers wich do not usually effect people with allergies.

But i still strongly urge anyone looking for a pomeranian to go to a breeder, a breed rescue, or shelter, never go to a Petstore, they are sick, promote puppy mills, and you will not get a great quality dog with AKC reg papers at petstores.

If anyone else has pom questions ask away :) I have 3.
