My 5month old Husky/German Shepard puppy is travel sick. Could it just be nerves, and how do we overcome this problem? (HeatherXx, Outside the US)
Interesting Question. Hope this helps.
This is always an issue with young pups. However to be fair if it was nerves we would expect to see many warning signs beforehand. These would include whining, barking, howling, urinating and not sitting still in the car. There would also be a reluctance of
the dog to get into the car first off despite where it was going.
It is common enough for small dogs to be car sick and by the sounds of it your young pup just needs to get used to it really. It is just like some people. I never get car or boat sick yet some of my family can’t go 20 minutes in a car or boat without feeling a little ill. Hope this helps. Most dogs do grow out of it eventually when they grow upwards and can start to take in interest in what is happening outside.
